Hazel (aka Hay-Way) was in heaven this week. Taylor and Ingrid made the 12-hour trek from KC to Houston with us for New Years…which meant Hazel had some buddies in the back seat. She even suckered Taylor into being her personal bone-holder on the drive. That spoiled little dog has been so upset since he left because she actually has to use her paws to chew a bone. What a shame!
Okay, so back to the point. We had so much fun with Taylor and Ingrid…I just hope we didn’t bore them with our old couple lifestyle 🙂 Ingrid should probably win some kind of prize for sitting through not one, but two K-State sporting events. Being a KU grad and fan, I’m sure she wasn’t jumping for joy when everyone put their purple on!
Speaking of purple…I like this picture a lot.
We did a lot of this…
There was also some of this. Excessive celebration?
Then we had a bonfire and some brewskies to ease the pain of defeat. Cute dogs helped too.
This was my Christmas gift to Chris. To get it home we had to borrow my dad’s old-fashioned 1980’s topper and strap it to the top of the jeep. We looked awesome.
When Ingrid and I weren’t watching The Real Housewives (of every location) reruns and the guys weren’t murdering people in Call of Duty, we did a little shopping. I had been talking up Nordstrom Rack like it was my job, but I didn’t think about the fact that it would be severely picked over 3 days after Christmas. Oops. At least everyone had a little luck at the Galleria. We also saw True Grit one night at the Alamo Drafthouse. The place was very cool and the movie was great…that is, until I flipped my entire greek salad on myself and the floor. Oh well, I could’ve skipped a few more meals after our 10-day Christmas eat-a-thon.
And then there was New Years Eve! We started off with drinks and appetizers at Ryan and Alisha’s downtown…they have the coolest loft apartment that really makes me want to be an urbanite.
Such a cute couple 🙂
Note to self: try to look like you have eyes in pictures…
Then it was on to the main event: Pete’s Piano Bar. Good company, good music, and even better people-watching. Well, this guy was actually with us…
On that note, I will bring this blog post to close 🙂 I’m so glad Ingrid and Taylor came down and spent some time with us over their break. Hopefully we’ll get to do it again very soon!

Ali – LOVING it. Still don't know what I'm doing and the book Chris got me just can't hold my interest…but I'm taking my first class tomorrow night and I can't wait!
Callie – you need one! They had them at Costco on Blue Valley Pkwy a few months ago, but I ended up getting it here: http://www.firepits.com/fire-pits/fire-pits/patina31inchkansasstatefirepit.cfm?TID=PAT097-1&source=channel_intelligence_shopzilla&srccode=cii_10043468&cpncode=18-71881496-2 and I used the discount code PE-5794 for $20 off. Maybe if you get this for Tony he will feel obligated to get you a new camera! 😉
