So this past weekend was great for so many reasons…
1. Luke turned 1!!!!!
First of all, this kid is so cute it’s scary. Even with a cheek full of stitches (yes, he’s already proving he’s a rough and tumble little boy), he is so stinkin’ adorable. I may be a bit biased but I think you’ll agree…
Luke’s birthday party could be explained in one word…awesome. Spooky hayrides, pumpkin carving, Reese’s s’mores, K-State football, and a gigantic frog cake. What more could a kid ask for? I had the best time ever as a 25-year-old, so I can’t even imagine how much all the kiddos enjoyed it.
Luke and Gigi before his big day…
Hmmm…not quite sure what to think about this.
Okay, that’s pretty darn good.
So glad I got to see these lovely ladies twice in one weekend!
Pumpkins. Yes, I’m proud of my free-handed powercat. Only when it’s dark though because you can’t see all my mess-ups with permanent marker.
PJ party! The birthday boy and all of his cousins…
2. I got to spend Halloween with the girls. Trick-or-treating with Maren was a little chilly, but totally worth it. My heart just about broke when she asked, “Aunt Vanessa, are you going to come back for every Halloween?” You can bet I’m going to try now! It was hard to say goodbye to Cinderella and the little Lady Bug, but I keep reminding myself that Christmas is right around the corner.
Papa is everybody’s favorite…
Cinderella and her mom…but not the evil step-mom 🙂
3. I got to enjoy lunch with Heather and Britt. Since Heather thought it would be funny to move out of Texas as soon as I got there, I now get to visit her when I go back home. Oh well, as long as I get to see her I will survive. We had a great time and I seriously think I could’ve stayed there all day talking and laughing with these two. Can’t wait to do it again soon.
4. We accepted an offer on our house in St. Louis! There hasn’t been a ton of urgency considering the company would eventually buy it from us, but that didn’t make us any less pumped to hear we got an offer on Sunday. Now we’re just keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly on that end! We might even get to close early on the new place here in H-town.
Anywho, things are good! This weekend we’re looking forward to our first Texas high school football game. It’s the Cinco Ranch/Katy rivalry game and we got some of the last tickets available yesterday. Did you know high school football games sold out?? I didn’t! Oh yeah, and we actually have friends to go with. That’s a change I can definitely get used to!

LOVE the new blog name and description! K, I'm really confused though. I believe I saw some of these same kids on Brittany's blog. You guys are related and have the same nieces/nephews!? Please explain! 🙂

Yep, those are my sister's girls! My sister also happens to be married to Jimmy's (Brittany's husband) brother. A little bit confusing, huh? 🙂
