Yesterday was the start of a new chapter in our life…puppy parenthood!!! We left Hannibal mid-morning and headed towards Kirksville/Pagliai’s. Yes, again! My parents decided to join us and meet their new grandchild…and the double-cheese-and-green-pepper-pizza (a staple in their college years) was just a bonus 🙂
After lunch we made our way to Unionville and met the folks from Lazy T Bulldogs to pick up little Hazel! We had a really great experience with our breeders so if anyone you know is looking for a French or English bulldog, I would definitely recommend these folks. They’re just the nicest people and it’s obvious that they really care about their pups!
Hazel was a little shy at first but she warmed up pretty quickly. Chris thinks she remembered us from our first visit…right 🙂 Here’s a picture of our new family!!
How cute is this collar accessory my mom knitted for Hazel?? I sent her this link and she ran with it. She’s pretty talented! She also crocheted a little pink blanket for Hazel’s kennel. Do you think this dog is going to be spoiled?
Hazel did great on the 5 hour drive home. We stopped at a couple of times, but this is what she did most of the way…
Then the fun really began when we got home… 🙂
Believe it or not, Hazel hardly cried at all when we put her in the kennel for the night. The breeder sent her home with a little blanket that smelled like her brothers and sister, which seemed to make her feel more at home.
I worked from home today and did a lot of what I like to call “scoop and runs”. When she started to squat, I would scoop her up and run for the back door!! As expected, there were a couple of accidents…but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with some spot shot or a little lysol! Hazel’s favorite part of the day was watching herself on the computer. Even she thinks she’s adorable! 🙂
Up next…puppy training classes start tomorrow night!!!

Congrats on the new addition!! She is so cute. Good luck with the puppy classes… we did classes as soon as he was 17 or 18 weeks, so not the tiny puppy classes, but the next step up. He (I, cough cough) loved them 🙂
