As of Thursday afternoon we had nothing planned for the weekend. Considering I normally have every minute of the 2 days planned, this was a pretty rare occasion! Needless to say, the no plans thing didn’t last long. Here’s what we actually ended up doing…
Friday: Tapas for dinner and an evening at The Muny (St. Louis’ version of Starlight) for the musical Damn Yankees. Chris’ friend from work and his wife invited us along and we had a great time! We even knew a few songs…remember, “Whatever Lola wants”? I definitely want to go back for another show this summer!
Saturday afternoon: Josh, Melissa and Luke called and said they were passing though St. Louis, so Hazel got to meet her cousin Luke and we all enjoyed some Peel Pizza in Edwardsville! Of course, any day I get to see Luke is a good day 🙂 These pictures just make me smile…
Saturday evening: Chris and I experienced our first NASCAR race and we got the racing hats to prove it! It was a whole other world…and I can’t say I didn’t like it. 🙂 Of course, we were in a suite that his company sponsored so it was probably not a true NASCAR experience. But hey, close enough! We witnessed a pretty exciting final lap because the 2nd place car decided to push the 1st place car into the wall right before the finish line. Wowza!
All in all, this weekend was a blast and I’m actually glad that it was action packed 🙂
